The Lord continues to weave all the details together. What the end result will look like? We're still waiting, but however the print comes out, it will be PERFECT! Perfect, because He's in it and creating this opportunity.
SHINE is already meeting, just not in an official place. We meet once-a-month in our home. The first month we had 10 in attendance, all junior high girls. And this past month, we had 15, which included high school girls as well.
In March, we had the theme "your mamma's pajamas", and in April, we had "silly sock" theme. We're going through the book, "A Young Woman After God's Own Heart."
Chapter 1 was about being "hot-hearted for Christ," and learning to be all in!! We sifted through the difficult truth that Chris would rather us be all on for Him, or all off, but not in between.
Chapter 2 we talked about being "deeply rooted," so we can weather the storms of life, and be standing when trials hit us hard. This is a way we can SHINE for Him!!
Our first service project is having a bedding drive for an orphanage across the border, opening in July for teen girls. We will have various opportunities to reach out to these girls, from Silver to Palomas.

FOR GIRLS....
Now with a partnership in hand, we have a clearer focus on the center and who it will serve. SHINE will serve the girls of Silver City, grades 6-12, through a variety of ways.
They will find the center to be a place where they can belong, learn, serve, and grow. Our co-founder, Ami Vinson, is walking alongside this effort to see it come to fruition.
Our EIN has been granted, the non-profit is underway, and a grant has already been applied for. The rental space is agreed upon, however the details are being developed.
Pray for this endeavour, and the Lord's direction. More details to follow! Below is a picture of the space we hope to rent. Please pray for this as well.
With gratitude,
Elizabeth

From conception . . .
Welcome to SHINE Outreach Center!
Where all of this is headed, I have no idea! How did this happen and become conceived? Through a vision, death, and rebirth. From the time we moved to Silver City, I've had my eyes on one building in particular and for the life of me, I could not figure out what we could use it for. So, like most things we feel have no use, we drop it and move on. That was until the death of my father, Randy Hoenshell, on January 17, 2013. Through the tragedy and walking close with the Lord every breathing moment, because without Him sometimes we just don't want to breathe, I had a vision one very late night on February 25, 2013 and so SHINE starts. I could not sleep for the life of me. Actually, I was sleeping and then suddenly was woken up from 11p.m.-3 a.m. and the details were too grand for anything I could come up with on my own. The details were given by the Lord, and Him alone!
So, with much anxiousness over the logistics, but the excitement to serve Him through our community. SHINE will offer classes, groups for the adults and activities for the kids. It will serve on many different levels, in fact, I hope the Lord brings clarity over the next few days and months. We will have a reading room, and even a very small consignment store. We're just a sanctuary to Silver! We all need a place to hang our hat, and a place to share our hearts, and this will be the place. Use us oh Lord and let not one thing happen without Your hand in it!
So, congratulations! Today has begun the growing process of a new something. Much was done today to get our status right with the state and IRS, and we're even set up with social media! Let it begin and let's see what happens...... SHINE ON!! That was Dad's and Katie's song.
